The Valencian chef joins the ranks of gastronomic legends by placing 96th on the list of The Word's 50 Best Restaurants
The list of the 50 best restaurants in the world will be unveiled on June 20 in Valencia. The city will host the gala of The World's 50 Best Restaurants 2023 in the spectacular Palau de Les Arts, thus becoming the center of attention of the gastronomic universe. But this popular list always serves a tasty hors d'oeuvre first by announcing the restaurants ranked from 51 to 100. It is this exclusive group, which was announced today, that welcomed Valencian chef Ricard Camarena, coming in at 96th place in the world's top 100.
Ricard Camarena Restaurant has 2 Michelin stars, 1 green Sustainability star, 3 Repsol suns and ranks eighth in the world of the best vegetarian restaurants, according to the Smart Green Guide. He also boasts various national and local accolades for his work to further social, economic and environmental sustainability. In addition to this establishment, Camarena runs, together with Mari Carmen Bañuls, other restaurants in the city. Habitual, Canalla Bistro, BarX and Central Bar offer very diverse menus, but they all have their own personality and connection to the land, with dishes that are always made with seasonal local products.
With Camarena's entry on the list, that makes two chefs with gastronomic offerings in Valencia who are part of this exclusive world club. Quique Dacosta is currently ranked 42nd on The World's 50 Best Restaurants list with his restaurant in Dénia (Alicante). With three Michelin stars, this chef is an international benchmark, with dishes bursting with creativity and modernism. In the city of Valencia, Dacosta has the restaurant El Poblet, Llisa Negra, Vuelve Carolina and Mercat Bar.
