Sorolla's contemporaries at the reopening of the City Museum

Categories: exhibitions.

The museum features 140 works from the artist's time with the exhibit “The City of Artists. Joaquín Sorolla and the Palace of Arts and Industries of Valencia”

It is the year of Sorolla, and in addition to exhibits with paintings by the artist, exhibits have been scheduled that underscore his influence on other creators.

One such exhibit is “The City of Artists. Joaquín Sorolla and the Palace of Arts and Industries of Valencia”.

On this occasion, the Museo de la Ciudad (City Museum) invites you to take in more than 140 works from Sorolla's time, created between the late 19th and early 20th centuries, with pieces by Valencian artists that showcase the cultural effervescence of the time.

All this was made possible thanks to the generosity of Valencian museums and entities that lent works to the exhibit, most notably the Museum of Fine Arts of Valencia and the Benlliure House Museum, as well as numerous private collectors.

If you are interested in visiting this exhibit, which is part of the commemorative events of the year of Sorolla being held in the city of Valencia, you can do so all throughout 2023.
