25 concerts of chamber music in the Palau de la Música
Categories: music.
TOURISTIC AREA: City of Arts and Alameda
International soloists, musicians of the Valencia Or-chestra and Valencian groups from February 7 to June 18.
The new edition of the Chamber Music Series at the Palau de la Música is back with twenty-five concerts that bring together international soloists, musicians of the Valencia Orchestra and Valencian groups. It will be held, once more, in the Sala Rodrigo, from February 7 to June 18.
The Chamber Music Series features violinist Pinchas Zukerman (April 9), who, along with cellist Amanda Forsyth and pianist Shai Wosner, will perform works by Brahms and Beethoven.
Another international event will be with violist Antoine Tamestit (March 2), artist-in-residence this season, who will perform, with teachers from the Valencia Orchestra, works by Bach and Shostakovich.
Also joining in will be the Covent Garden Soloist ensemble (May 2), with the violinist Vasco Vassilev, and Vicent Campos on trumpet.
The schedule features a lot of variety. We will have "Mozart in Vienna" (February 15), "Quartets from here and there..." (February 17), "Glamour Tango, tango become woman", on the occasion of International Women's Day (March 9); Chamber Quintet (May 11); "String Sextets" (May 19), and works by Crass, Roussel and Schmitt on June 8.
There will be no shortage of Valencian ensembles, groups and musicians in the line-up, as well as several concerts that will feature in the vocal segment of the series, with the return to the Palau of the Cor de la Generalitat Valenciana, directed by Francisco Hervás.
The sessions will start at 7:30 pm and admission is 10 euros. A ridiculous price, considering the quality music you can enjoy at any of these events.
