An exhibition where you can find out how photography influenced the life of painter Joaquín Sorolla

Do you want to know what influenced the life and career of Joaquín Sorolla?

The Bancaja Foundation makes it easy for you with the exhibition "Essential photography in the time of Sorolla".

It is open through February 4, 2024, and in it, you will discover the tremendous impact it had on him and his creations.

The exhibition consists of 61 snapshots by famous photographers such as Charles Clifford or Kurt Hielscher that will teleport you to the Spain of the late 19th and early 20 centuries, when Sorolla lived, and which influenced some of his works such as "Vision of Spain".

The visit begins with "Sorolla and photography", followed by a section by Ruth Matilda Anderson, and concludes with a section by Anna M. Christian, "The Hispanic Society of America and photography".

You can also see an excerpt from the report "Sorolla in his paradise", which analyzes the influence of photography on his painting.

Together, they create a documentary collection so you can get to know the Valencian painter better, a complete exhibition that you can't miss.
