The center opens on November 11th with over 100 artworks on display.

Five years after the start of an ambitious restoration project, the city of Valencia is gearing up to welcome a new cultural landmark: the Hortensia Herrero Art Center. Located on the central Mar Street, it will open its doors to the public on November 11th and promises to become a world-renowned tourist attraction for art lovers and travelers seeking unique cultural experiences.

The Hortensia Herrero Art Center will house the private collection of patron Hortensia Herrero, which includes over 100 works by more than 50 artists such as Andreas Gursky, Anselm Kiefer, Georg Baselitz, Anish Kapoor, Mat Collishaw, and many others. In addition to this collection, the center will also host temporary exhibitions by nationally and internationally renowned artists, making it a hub for contemporary artistic creativity.

The restoration project, led by ERRE architecture, has been a remarkable achievement in the revitalization of the historic Valeriola Palace. Its main goal has been to preserve the building's rich history while transforming it into a reference point for contemporary art. To achieve this, a continuous tour through the building has been designed, promising visitors a comfortable and natural experience.

The building also features a garden courtyard and a basement that houses the remains of Valencia's ancient Roman circus, discovered during archaeological excavations. This enriching journey through time will allow visitors to explore the city's history in a unique artistic context.

The Hortensia Herrero Art Center occupies over 3,500 square meters spread across four accessible levels. In addition to reclaiming a valuable element of Valencia's architectural heritage, this historic site will become a cultural center of reference, offering a wide range of cultural activities, lectures, and events promoted by the Hortensia Herrero Foundation.
