Sorolla's Feminine Exhibition
Categories: exhibitions.
Joaquín Sorolla´s works have come to the Bancaja Foundation.
An exhibition titled "Femenino Plural" that looks at the presence of women in the work of the most important Valencian painter of all time.
The exhibition aims to highlight the role of women in late 19th and early 20th century society from an intimate and personal, but also social, point of view.
The artist lived through the beginnings of the feminist movement in Spain.
These experiences inspired works that depict many of the stereotypes of the time: women in the home, working women, bourgeois women, modern women.…
A faithful portrayal of the different roles held by women at the time.
To enjoy this exhibition, visit the Bancaja Foundation from February 3rd to May 30th. Free entry.
