Come and discover more than five decades of collaboration between Senga Nengudi and Maren Hassinger at the IVAM
Senga Nengudi and Maren Hassinger come to IVAM with a dual exhibition celebrating more than five decades of artistic collaboration.
From 19 December 2024 to 18 May 2025, the museum is hosting this exhibition, which is the first presentation in Spain of the joint work of these two visionary artists.
The exhibition focuses on the deep connection and complicity they have shared since the 1970s.
So, what will you find?
Many sculptures, performances and videos that capture their improvisational and exploratory energy, as well as two introductory texts, one by Maren Hassinger and the other by Senga Nengudi.
All of this in an attempt to reflect on their cultural identity and how they have challenged norms and systems of power by touching on controversial issues such as gender and race.
