Macbeth, the work inspired by the literary success of Shakespeare and brought to the world of opera by Giuseppe Verdi in the 19th century, remains a must for lovers of the genre.
Directed by Italian master Michele Mariotti, this four-act opera brings its gloomy atmosphere and grim scenery to the Main Hall of the Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía.
A show in which the struggle between ambition and consciousness takes center stage and stirs the viewer. A dramatic production that deals with those who fight to the death for power, but also those who suffer the consequences.
The exceptional cast is led by baritones Luca Salsi and George Gagnidze, and soprano Anna Pirozzi. The artists offer the audience a unique show in which to fully immerse themselves in Giuseppe Verdi's first foray into Shakespearean drama.
