Giuseppe Verdi will bring the Palau de les Arts to life with his music through his work "Un ballo in maschera"

In opera, we always find love stories, but each one is unique. "Un ballo in maschera" is one of those works with a plot full of emotions, forgiveness and a friendly hand that can hurt even more than the devil's hand.

The work tells the story of the death of Gustav III of Sweden, marked by the censorship of the time, which forced the author of the libretto, Eugène Scribe, to shuffle the names for his characters around.

It's a story full of passion that captivated Giuseppe Verdi, which he put to music to turn it into an opera that, almost 200 years later, continues to delight audiences.

The magical notes of "Un ballo in maschera" will ring out at the Palau de les Arts in Valencia from April 21 to May 5, 2024, leaving a lesson in humility and forgiveness for those who want to enjoy its music and singing.

This version of the opera will be performed by the choir and orchestra of the Generalitat Valenciana, and star Francesco Meli as Riccardo and Anna Pirozzi as Amelia.
