The Exposition Palace
Galicia, 1; 46010 - Valencia
TOURISTIC AREA: City of Arts and Alameda
The Palacio de la Exposición, was designed by Francisco Mora Berenguer, and built as the municipal centre for the Regional Exhibition in 1909 and the National Exhibition of 1910. It is a unique building for special events and receptions. Construction took just seventy days and its modernist style evokes a peculiar neo-gothic image from the glorious medieval period of Valencian history; mixing civil gothic, religious and military architecture. Its outstanding feature is without doubt the harmony between the architecture and the sumptuary and industrial art, skilfully fusing –as in the world of Gaudí – ironwork, ceramics, glasswork and carpentry. The Palace has recently been reopened for its original use as an exhibition centre.
