L'Hemisfèric

Inaugurated in 1998, the Hemisfèric was the first building of the Ciutat de les Arts i les Ciències that opened its doors to the public. It is a spectacular building designed by Santiago Calatrava, which has an ovoid cover of more than 100 meters in length, which houses inside the large sphere that is the projection room.
It is the largest room in Spain that houses three projection systems on a concave screen of 900 square meters:
- Large format cinema, IMAX Dome.
- 3D digital cinema. Measures of the 3D screen, rectangle of approximately 16x8 meters.
- Digital projections. Astronomical representations and entertainment shows.
The Hemisfèric is a singular and spectacular building, designed by Santiago Calatrava, which represents a great human eye, the eye of wisdom. This element symbolizes the look and observation of the world that visitors discover through surprising audiovisual projections.
