The building occupies the entire block, and is surrounded by flat streets and a pedestrianised square, also flat with even paving.

There is contrasted signage with approved pictograms, with information on spaces and routes. Defibrillator available on the ground floor.

Access:

The building has three entrances, one via Calle Universidad, another via Calle de la Nau, and another via Plaza del Patriarca. The Calle Universidad entrance is the closest to the reception desk; the one on Plaza del Patriarca to the cafeteria, and the one on Calle de la Nave, to the Study Room. All of the doors are permanently open.

Reception:

Window 110 cm high with a screen but no induction loop. The closest entrance is the one on Calle Universidad.

Indoor mobility:

There are pamphlets with written information about the building, as well as information panels in each of the rooms with pictograms or short texts.

Toilets:

With visual aide to indicate free or occupied. With a gap underneath the cubicle door.

Lift:

There are two lifts for visitors that connect the buildings various rooms. One of them is for accessing the Study Room and Library, and is panoramic. Both have a floor landing indicator and visual information inside of cab.

Display:

Several exhibition rooms have glass doors. Subtitled audiovisual displays, depending on the temporary exhibition.

Physical

Car park:

Three reserved public parking spaces for PLM, two on Plaza de Alfonso el Magnánimo, 300 m away, and one on Plaza de San Vicente Ferrer, 190 m away, with an accessible route and even paving to the premises.

Access:

The entrance via Calle Universidad is the closest to the reception desk. It has a stone step with 6 cm riser height and 32 cm tread depth, served by a mobile ramp. Permanently open door with more than 120 cm clear width. The entrance via Plaza del Patriarca is the closest to the cafeteria. Permanently open door with a stone doorstep, 19 cm high, served by a ramp with 22% incline, 83 cm long and 1 m wide. Preceded by an automatic glass door with 108 cm clear width. The entrance via Calle de la Nave is closest to the Study Room. It has a door step 15 cm high. A mobile ramp is available. Permanently open with more than 120 cm clear width. It is followed by a passage of approx. 30 m with a 2.5% incline.

Reception:

Located on ground floor, with an accessible route. The closest entrance is the one on Calle Universidad. Desk 110 cm high. The reception connects with the rest of the building via a staircase with a handrail, with seven steps with 31 cm tread depth and 17 cm riser height, served by a platform stairlift.

Indoor mobility:

The building has four floors, all of which are accessible via various staircases and lifts. On the Ground Floor, the Main Cloister provides access to several rooms. There are lots of changes in level between the different rooms, all of which have ramps. The majority are fixed but some, such as in the Auditorium, are also mobile. The ramps very between a 6% and 30% incline. The majority are under 50 cm long and are around 80-100 cm wide. The doors have a minimum 90 cm clear width. There doors that open automatically and manually. Corridors with more than 120 cm clear width. The Main Cloister has a 4 cm change in level with no signage throughout its perimeter. The first floor gallery has a 3% sideways change in slope throughout its entire surface. The theatre room has six spaces reserved for PLM. Door with more than 120 cm clear width. Access to the Auditorium via two steps with 22 cm riser height and 64 cm tread depth. A removable ramp is available. The podium is accessed via a staircase with seven steps. The Sapiencia Chapel has a stone step 7 cm high, followed by the doorstep, 13 cm high. Change in level inside served by a moveable ramp. Access to the Main Hall via an 8 cm step served by a ramp. Carpeted floor. Smooth, slip-resistant floor surface.

Toilets:

In the Ground Floor and Mezzanine toilets: Adapted unisex toilet with standardised symbol on the door. Slip-resistant floor surface. Sliding toilet door, with pull and 72 cm clear width. There is a space in front of and behind the door of 150 cm or more. The lock can be opened from the outside in the event of an emergency. Washbasin 85 cm high, no pedestal, with a clear space underneath 75 cm high and 61 cm deep. Pressure tap. Upright mirror; height of lower edge, 85 cm from the floor. Approach to the toilet, 42 cm wide on the right side, 45 cm on the left side and 86 cm in front. Toilet seat height, 45 cm. Folding grab bar on the left side and fixed grab bar on the right side. There are two lifts for visitors that connect the buildings various rooms. Panoramic lift, for access to the Study Room and Library, with a door with 80 cm clear width, interior and exterior call buttons at a height of 110 cm. 133x118 cm cab. Lift for access to the Matilde Room and Cloister Gallery with exterior buttons at a height of 120 cm and interior buttons at a height of 108-123 cm. Door with 80 cm clear width.

Stairs:

There are three staircases that connect the four floors of the building. All of them, except the one accessing the Vice-Chancellor's Office, are next to a lift. Via the entrance on Calle Universidad, the building is accessed via a staircase with a handrail, with seven steps with 31 cm tread depth and 17 cm riser height, with a platform stairlift. Staircase for access to the Study Room and Library with sections of approx. 16 steps, 18 cm riser height and 30 cm tread depth. Handrails on both sides of stairs, at a height of 100 cm. The steps have slip-resistant strips. Staircase for access to the Vice-Chancellor's Office made up of two sections with sixteen steps each. With a handrail on one side and no visual signage on each step.

Display:

Access to the Academia Room via an automatic door, followed by a ramp with a handrail and a 10% incline, 143 cm long and 100 cm wide. Access to the Study Room with a change in level served by a mobile ramp located at the alternative entrance from the cloister. Access to the Oberta, Martínez Guerricabeitia and Duc de Calabria rooms with no change in level. The furniture of the exhibition rooms is changeable since they all house temporary exhibitions.

Cafeteria / Restaurant:

Located next to the Plaza del Patriarca entrance. Level access via a permanently open door with more than 120 cm clear width. Four-leg tables, with no cross bar, 72 cm high. With a clear space underneath 67 cm high and 75 cm wide. 90 cm passage width between tables. Bar 112 cm high and 23 cm clear space underneath. Cafeteria terrace located in the Small Cloister, with a 5 cm change in level served by two ramps approx. 50 cm long and 100 cm wide. Single-leg tables 72 cm high, with a clear space underneath 68 cm high.

The Main Cloister has a 4 cm change in level with no signage throughout its perimeter. Temporary exhibitions are often installed in the side corridors, which may obstruct the route. Barrier free path, with no unmarked projecting elements, in the rest of the building. Furniture changes in the exhibition rooms depending on the exhibition. There are lots of changes in level between the different rooms, generally with no contrasting visual signage. Smooth, slip-resistant floor surface with no bump. There are glass doors with low-contrast visual signage. The Meeting Room of the Vice-Chancellor's Office has a loose carpet. Information labels with contrasted, embossed pictograms. Variable lighting.

Toilets:

Men's and women's toilets marked with standardised tactile pictograms in contrasting colours, placed at a height of 167 cm. Toilet door contrasts with the wall. The lighting is uniform and has no timer. Slip-resistant floor surface.

Lift:

There are two lifts for visitors that connect the buildings various rooms. Panoramic lift, for access to the Study Room and Library, with buttons with embossed signage but no text in Braille. No audio signals. Lift for access to the Matilde Room and Cloister Gallery, non-panoramic, which shares the other characteristics of the other lift.
