World Paella Day: the international day of paella

Every September 20, coinciding with the rice harvest, Valencians celebrate World Paella Day, the date on which we praise this delicious dish of Valencian cuisine and share it with the rest of the world.
On that same day, in La Marina of València (Pérgola area), twelve chefs from different parts of the world will fire up their stoves and prepare to compete for the 2024 World Paella Day Cup: the award for the best paella in the world made by an international chef. The contest can be watched live on a giant screen from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. In addition, from 11:00 AM to 2:45 PM, paella portions will be served for 5 euros, and drinks for 2 euros.
If you're curious to see the trophy of this competition, it will be on display at the Central Market of València from September 13 to 19. It's a true work of art created by fallero artist José Luis Platero.
