TAC Urban Architecture Festival
Categories: exhibitions, urban festival.
TOURISTIC AREA: Historical center
“Mediterráneo” is the winning project in Valencia, and will be temporarily located in the heart of the El Carmen neighborhood
The second edition of the urban architecture festival is here, and Valencia has the honor of participating in this project that combines architecture and creativity in public spaces.
125 professionals have entered the competition with their corresponding projects. To participate, they have designed a project for Plaza Músico López Chavarri while taking into account the role of buildings in the climate emergency.
In short, TAC 2023 provides food for thought on the role of architecture in the climate challenges facing cities in the era of irrefutable global warming.
The winner is the young architect Carlos Bouza with "Mediterráneo" and his homage to the Mediterranean blind as a solution to combat high temperatures.
It also features sustainable details that open up the possibility for reuse: the blinds are made of wood, it has an interior garden, and stones that act as a counterweight to the construction while doubling as urban furniture.
The pavilion will be located in Plaza Músico López-Chávarri from September 25 to October 16.
If you like architecture and are worried about the climate crisis, this is a must.
