Sagunto celebrates the 39th edition of the "Sagunt a escena" festival

We all know that August in the Mediterranean is synonymous with beaches. Still, there's a cultural plan for summer nights that you won't be able to resist.

From August 4 to 28, Sagunto will host its legendary "Sagunt a escena" festival, with plays, music, dance and circus shows invading the Roman Theatre and other venues in the city.

This year it celebrates its 39th edition with a multidisciplinary program that combines international shows with Valencian productions.

Through them, the festival invites the public to discover the wonders of yesteryear and today, and the beauty of the stage arts.

The impressive Roman Theatre hosts eight of the festival's events, including plays such as "Júlia" and " Safo", shows like "Tocororo Suite" and "Secretos de alcoba", and performances by musicians such as José Mercé.

Elsewhere, "Off Romà" is the component that takes over the squares, streets and parks of Sagunto to offer free shows for all audiences.

With performances such as "Perseverance", "#Sueña", "Peus dalt" and "Water falls", theatre, dance and circus take center stage in this part of the festival.
