Remembering “Vicointer '83”, the history of glass art
Categories: exhibitions.
TOURISTIC AREA: Historical center
In 1983, Valencia hosted the International Contemporary Glass exhibition titled “Vicointer '83”. That exhibition marked a before and after in the history of glass art in Spain, because from then onwards it went from being linked to craft production to becoming a real artistic trend. The legacy of that exhibition and its impact are collected in the exhibition "The emergence of contemporary glass. Remembering Vicointer '83", which can be seen until March 27, 2022
The exhibition is divided into two sections. In the first, works from the Technological Glass Museum at La Granja (Segovia) are on show. They are pieces created by great national and international artists who attended “Vicointer 83”. In the second section, the public will see works by artists who have worked with glass as a means of expression, not only decorative but artistic.
