If you are intrigued by the exciting universe of ancient Egypt and mummies, take note: through January 21, 2024, you can live it first-hand at CaixaForum Valencia.
Open Monday to Sunday - including holidays - from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., the "Mummies of Egypt: Rediscovering Six Lives" exhibit delves into the life and mummification of six people who lived between 800 BC and 100 AD.
Thanks to pioneering technology, we now know what life was like in a land defined by the Nile, where each mummy conceals a true enigma and a story to tell.
Without having to unwrap the remains, these discoveries have allowed experts to analyze healing practices and cultural exchanges in the life story of these specimens, as well as the role of women and children in ancient Egypt.
CaixaForum also features side events related to the exhibit, such as conferences, debates, screenings, guided tours, workshops and concerts. You can check out all the activities here.
If you're interested in mummification as a technique for persisting after death and leading the body to the great beyond, don't just lie there; get your ticket here.
