Maria del Mar Bonet will take center stage on the last day of the festival

The 6th edition of the Festival Polirítmia, dedicated to traditional Mediterranean music and dance, will be held from July 1 to 9 in Valencia with 14 free concerts.

The concerts will take place in Plaza del Ayuntamiento and the Teatro Rialto in Valencia, while La Nau will host the training program and an educational concert.

Saturday, July 1

The festival kicks off with El Sarau de la Fira, part of the Folk Nights of the Gran Fira de València, an open music and dance session at 10:00 PM in Plaza del Ayuntamiento.

Then, at midnight is the Correfoc de la Fira fireworks show.

Sunday, July 2

Free concerts in Plaza del Ayuntamiento with a show by Marala at 10:00 PM, where the three performers will present their most recent work, 'Jota de morir'.

Monday, July 3

Conference day in the Matilde Salvador room in La Nau, which will include an educational concert by Rubén Alonso, 'Antropoloops', a creative approach to our intangible musical heritage based on the musical remix.

At night, Plaza del Ayuntamiento will host, at 10:00 PM, the concert of La Maria, who will present “L'Assumpció”, her anticipated first studio work.

Tuesday, July 4

At 10:00 PM, the Polirítmia stage in Plaza del Ayuntamiento will host the girls of the Balkan Paradise Orchestra, who will premiere 'Catharsis', their new show.

Wednesday, July 5

At 8:00 PM, at the Teatro Rialto in Valencia, local artist Tere Núñez will present the results of her international artistic residency, together with the Portuguese duo Couple Coffee.

At 10:00 PM, in Plaza del Ayuntamiento, it will be the turn of Turkish Ali Doğan Gönültaş, who will present 'Kiğı', his first solo album.

Thursday, July 6

At 8:00 PM, at the Teatro Rialto, Álvaro Sola, a multidisciplinary artist who brings an amalgamation of fresh images and sounds to the music industry and to flamenco, will present his show 'Puñales'.

At 10:00 PM, on the stage of Plaza del Ayuntamiento, the group La Plazuela will showcase its Andalusian roots with a current and renewed show based on flamenco, electronic music and nu-funk.

Friday, July 7

At 8:00 PM, Anna Ferrer, from Menorca, will present 'Parenostic', a work in which creation and tradition go together.

At 10:00 PM, it will be the Lebanese Aleph who arrives at Plaza del Ayuntamiento with his fusion of three worlds - jazz, flamenco and oriental - in an unprecedented show.

Saturday, July 8

The activities will begin at 6:30 PM with the traveling performance of the Muixerangues de la Fira, which this year will feature the Muixeranga de Algemesí.

At 8:00 PM, the Teatro Rialto will host the show by local band N340, which seamlessly combines Valencian, Mediterranean and rock traditions.

At 10:00 PM, it will be the turn of the Syrian Mais Harb and her Arabic Music Show, a mix of her own songs and songs from Arab - and especially Syrian - folklore.

Sunday, July 9

At 8:00 PM at the Teatro Rialto, the trio Samaïa will present 'Traversées', a repertoire that delves into the three singers' most beloved traditions and pays tribute to the regional languages of France, as well as Europe and the Middle East.

And bringing down the curtain on the festival will be Maria del Mar Bonet, at 10:00 PM in Plaza del Ayuntamiento, who will again demonstrate why she is one of the great singer-songwriters in the world.

All the concerts of the festival are free. For those being held at the Teatro Rialto, the invitations will be handed out at the box office one hour before the concerts.
