"Les Arts Volant": the traveling opera that goes all over Valencia
Categories: with children, music, show, urban festival.
TOURISTIC AREA: Outskirts
"Les Arts Volant" is a traveling cultural outreach project that was created to showcase the wonderful world of opera.
The goal is to have music reach different areas of the city of Valencia so that residents, tourists and fans can enjoy this art form without having to travel.
How did they do it?
With a large truck that turns into a stage.
Yes, you read that right.
The theater company travels to the chosen square onboard this unique invention and then puts on a live opera for all audiences, at no cost.
This year, "Les Arts Volant" wanted to pay tribute to Vicente Martín i Soler, one of Valencia's most universal composers.
As a result, the piece selected for the traveling format of Les Arts was "El tutor burlat", a kind, sweet and somewhat mischievous comedy set against the backdrop of the Roman countryside, in which the author criticizes the social norms of the mid-18th century, and upholds freedom and love above all.
If you want to enjoy an open-air opera, this is your chance.
"Les Arts Volant" has scheduled eight shows in different parts of the city, so you have no excuse.
