The Christmas spirit fills the streets of Valencia with Christmas lights
The glow of Christmas lights marks the beginning of this eagerly awaited celebration.
The spirit of Christmas has already taken over València with the official lighting ceremony, which will hold special significance this year.. As a gesture of respect for those affected by the DANA, the lights will be lit three weeks later than usual, turning the event into a tribute to the victims of the disaster. The lights will be on every day from 6 p.m. to midnight; on holidays, they will be extended until 3 a.m.
The goal is clear: to dress up the city for Christmas, especially the busiest streets, such as shopping and pedestrian streets. And the municipal markets too!
In the case of the markets, including Mercado de Colón, in addition to lights there will also be Christmas ornaments, and on the façade of City Hall as well.
But it's not just lights!
Plaza del Ayuntamiento will feature a 25-meter tall Christmas tree, decorated with balls and gift boxes, lights, and spiced up with Christmas music. And there will also be a life-sized crèche.
Furthermore, around 10,000 vibrant poinsettia plants decorate the city during Christmas. You can see them at various locations, including the Puente de las Flores, Jardin del Turia, Jardin de Ayora, Jardines del Real, la Plaza del Ayuntamiento, Paseo de la Alameda or Parque Central.
This year, let yourself get carried away by the spirit of Christmas and enjoy the light show that the city of Valencia has in store for you.
Bon Nadal!
